Congratulations to our Boys Elementary Basketball team for their win at yesterday's tournament at LSSU!!! They will play in the championship on Thursday at JKL!
They boys will have a practice tomorrow, Wednesday, December 18, from 4:30-6:15 in DeTour.

The Varsity Girl's Islanders basketball team took on Mackinac Island Lakers this evening. It was a tightly contested first half, but in the third quarter, the Islanders took a commanding 10-point lead and never looked back. The final sxore was Islanders 54, Lakers 37.
Due to ongoing updates to our phone system, the number for Drummond Island Elementary has been changed to: 906-493-5343 until further notice. Please use this number when reaching out to the office, or individual staff. This change has been reflected on the website.

The weekend is here, Islanders!!
For planning purposes, here is next week's practice and game schedule. We have a lot of great things going on next week.
Our Christmas games are in Cedarville on Tuesday with our JV and Varsity Boys; and in DeTour on Friday with our JV and Varsity Girls. Please come in your best holiday apparel and have some fun!!!
On Monday, the Girls Varsity was scheduled to play Rapid River. After getting a call this week that they couldn't make it, Mackinac Island graciously offered to come up and play our girls. Thank you, Lakers!
On Tuesday, in Cedarville, we will be hosting a Meet and Greet event for all the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys who signed up for Middle School Basketball. They will meet with Coaches Paquin and Geyer in the secondary gym and receive their schedules, etc. The time for this is 6:00.

Hey basketball fans,
Attached is the Elementary Boys Basketball tournament schedule for our team.
The boys will play at LSSU.
Courts are open at 4:30 PM.
Admission is $5 per person.
Concessions will be provided.
Times are approximate - there will be 6 minutes between games and 10 minutes between games if a team has to play back to back.
Here is an itinerary for Girls and Boys Basketball this weekend. Our JV and Varsity Girls will travel to Brimley tomorrow night and Lake Leelanau St. Mary's on Saturday. Our JV and Varsity Boys travel to LLSM on Saturday.
At this time, these games do not appear to be livestreamed on NFHS. Should that change, we will let you know.
Tonight's Elementary Boys Basketball game in DeTour has been cancelled due to poor traveling conditions west of I-75.

DATA 4th & 5th grade students working on their gingerbread jail projects. Students have to create a jail cell with straws and gum drops. The gingerbread man has to be able to move around, but can't be able to escape!

If you are coming in for tonight's Christmas program, please consider helping a class out with this season's Food Drive War! Boxes are located inside the school between the two offices.
We have also posted and shared with our students next week's Christmas Spirit Week days. Students are encouraged to spread some holiday cheer and participate in the variety of dress-up days. Ya never know, there may be some prizes handed out for most creative and festive outfits!!!

Here is our upcomoing week's Islanders practice and game schedule. We have a lot going on with practices, school Christmas programs, and games; so please give the schedule a close look.
This Friday, our Girls' teams will be traveling from their game at Brimley to Gaylord for the night, before heading to Leelanau St. Mary's Saturday morning. When trip details are finalized we'll get them out to parents and players.
