The DeTour Area School District has issued the following statement today (10/27/26):
This morning, a DeTour Area Schools bus transporting three students and a staff member was involved in a traffic accident. The vehicle entered a ditch after reportedly attempting to swerve to avoid another vehicle that crossed into its lane.
We are relieved to report that the students, staff member, and driver are all safe. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff remain our highest priority, and we are grateful that the accident did not result in any injuries.
When a student is absent, missed lessons are hard to rebuild alone. Being at school every day keeps those literacy skills growing without gaps. Every Day Counts!
