Due to scheduling conflicts, we have had to move the Boys Elementary game against Pickford from tomorrow, November 30, to Wednesday, December 6. Game will still be played in DeTour and start time is 5:00. Elementary practice is still tonight at 4:00 at Drummond Elementary and there will be no practice tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion.

Tonight's (11/28/23) boy's JV/V basketball game vs. Kalkaska has been cancelled due to poor weather conditions below the bridge. Rescheduled date to be determined. Varsity boy's basketball practice will be today (11/28/23) @ 3:00pm in Cedarville. JV boy's will begin @ 3:30pm in Cedarville. Girl's basketball practice times remain the same.

On behalf of the DATA Elementary Parent Volunteer Group, we invite you to participate in our upcoming Eat, Drink & Be Giving (formerly the Festival of Lights) Fundraiser. This successful fundraiser has helped raise money to support the DATA Elementary students in several ways including field trips, classroom activities and student celebrations. This year’s fundraiser will be held on Saturday, December 2, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The DeTour Passage Museum will be offering Breakfast with Santa while the PVG will hold their Chance Auction Fundraiser. If you would like to provide an item for the chance auction, or donate in any way, please reach out to one of the PVG members and we will be happy to coordinate your donation. Congratulations to our middle school Quiz Bowl team on taking 2nd place! They competed last night in Newberry. The team consisted of Kaime Galarowic, Drake DePaul, Jackson Bias, Leah Richwine and Jaxon Ondrus. Students are listed left to right. Keep up the great work!

JV & the Varsity Volleyball teams were back in action agianst Rudyard. JV and Varsity played hard, but both came up a little short in their respective contests. Keep playing tough Islanders!

Our freshman students participated in manufacturing day at LSSU today. Along with learning different local job opportunities, the students were taught team building and communication skills. Companies that presented were: Carmeuse, Precision Edge, Cloverland Electric, Louisiana Pacific, Superior Fabrication and MiSTEM/LSSU.

Islanders JH girl's basketball is back in action this evening. They're hosting the Pickford Panthers. At the half, the 7th grade team is up 11 to 4. In the earlier contest, the 8th grade team beat Pickford 23 to 6. #Go Islanders!

Today, DeTour students had a presentation from the local fire department for fire safety week. They were able to try on equipment and climb around on the fire truck. Thank you, Captain Harper and the rest of the volunteers.
