Our winter season is officially underway with our Girls and Boys Bball teams..and here is the schedule for this week.

Forms were sent home last week and you can also find the form here on our page. Also, athletes need to wear their BLACK uniforms for pictures. We'll remind them on Monday when they receive their uniforms.
With our gym floors getting their annual refinishing, we needed to get creative with our practice times and locations. So, on Wednesday, you'll see that all of our teams are making the annual trip to LSSU for practice from 1-3. Typically, the teams stop for a quick bite to eat before returning home; so please keep in contact with your son or daughter about their return time.
Finally, the Islanders Athletic Program wants to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving with your friends and family!!
Have a great rest of your weekend...GO ISLANDERS!!!

On Wednesday the 20th, a group of our 9th-12th grade students, along with a few Sault Highschool students, attended an LSSU Gear-Up sponsored field trip across the UP to visit Northern Michigan University.
Before embarking on our tour, we were fortunate enough to run into the NMU Mascot, Waldcat Willy, and the university president, Dr. Tessman. After conversing with some of our students, he graciously paid for all of our beverages and snacks, along with all of the other students, at the campus Starbucks!
We then set out with our tour guide, stopping at the Founders Room in the Engineering and Planning Building for a presentation on all aspects of what NMU has to offer potential students. Our crew asked many useful questions and our knowledgeable presenter was thrilled to address each of them.
From there we crossed the campus, stopping at various landmarks and buildings, including the theatre, classroom buildings, residence living facility, and administration building. Along with detailed explanations of the facilities, our students were able to ask questions and receive lots of information from our helpful guide. We ended our tour at the dining facility, where we were treated to a veritable smorgasbord of delectable culinary selections.
After finishing our meal, we headed back out to our bus for the long trip home.
This was an excellent opportunity for our students to view and experience campus life at at NMU. Knowledge was gained, and fun was had by all!
