
Thursday, February 13th was the 100th day of school this year. Many of our elementary students took the time to celebrate their 100th day of learning for the school year. Here is Mrs. Baareman's class at Drummond Island Elementary.

Students having fun and enjoying Mr. Nettleton's shop class. This was the third and successful attempt at bending the steamed wood to create the base for snowshoes.





The Islanders girl's JV basketball team had a dominating performance tonight. They beat the Pickford Panthers 51 to 12.







There will be NO 7th Grade Basketball practice tonight, February 11. 8th Grade practice is still scheduled in Cedarville from 4:00-6:00, and any Cedarville 7th graders are welcome to attend.

It's that time of year for our Elementary Raiders Girls Basketball season to get underway! Below is the schedule and a medical consent form. We are currently looking for any girls in grades 3-6 who are interested in playing.

DeTour Daily Announcements 02/11/2025


It was a tight contest for our 7th grade boys this evening against the Bulldogs from Rudyard. With two minutes left in the game, the Islanders were up by 2 points and added 2 more, winning 24 to 20. Great victory boys!






This upcoming week the DHS Sophomore class is sponsoring Snowball Spirit and Dance. Spirit Week dress up days have been posted in the hallways, and below is information for the dance on Friday. Crowning of the Snowball King and Queen will be between the JV and Varsity games against Engadine.

Another full week behind us, and another full week ahead! Here is our practice and game schedule for this upcoming week.
On Tuesday, our Lady Islanders will have Parents' Night in DeTour, between the JV and Varsity games.
On Friday, when the boys host Engadine in DeTour, DHS will be crowning our Snowball King and Queen between the JV and Varsity games. There will be a dance after the game for any DeTour and Cedarville students to attend. Information will be shared in a later post.

We're sure many are wondering how today's snow day affects evening activities...we have just heard from Pickford, and the JV and Varsity Boys Basketball games are ON AS SCHEDULED. JV tip-off is still 5:45
With regards to any practices today...THER ARE NO JV/VARSITY GIRLS OR MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS PRACTICES.

The DHS Class of 2025 is having a "Send a Crush to Your Crush" fundraiser for Valentine's Day. A description and order form is below and can be printed, and all elementary students will be sent home with an order form on Monday. Middle and High School students can fill out orders and put them in the box outside Ms. Lanan's office. The Senior class is working to raise money for prom and graduations expenses later this year. If you have any questions, please ask a DHS Senior or Class Advisor, Mrs. Galarowic. Thank you for your support!

Detour Area Schools and DATA will be closed tomorrow, Friday, February 7th, due to illness. All after-school athletic activities for Friday will be determined tomorrow. Keep an eye on the Islanders Athletics Facebook page throughout the day tomorrow for more details.

It was parents' night tonight at the Islanders varsity boy's basketball game. Thank you to all the parents and family members who have committed a lot of time and effort to make this a successful season. Please know you are appreciated! The Islanders competed against the St. Ignace Saints on the hardwood this evening. Our boys faught hard all night and came out on top, Islanders 67 and Saints 34.





Coach Norris and the Islanders JV boy's basketball team played tough against St. Ignace tonight. However, they came up a little short. Final score: Saints 55, Islanders 45.





DATA K/1 and CCSS Preschool went to a Nature Preserve in Cedarville to hike the trails today!







It's World Read Aloud Day 2025! Some of our Drummond Island Elementary students participated in the live event from Boston, MA.
