JV & the Varsity Volleyball teams were back in action agianst Rudyard. JV and Varsity played hard, but both came up a little short in their respective contests. Keep playing tough Islanders!
Our freshman students participated in manufacturing day at LSSU today. Along with learning different local job opportunities, the students were taught team building and communication skills. Companies that presented were: Carmeuse, Precision Edge, Cloverland Electric, Louisiana Pacific, Superior Fabrication and MiSTEM/LSSU.
Islanders JH girl's basketball is back in action this evening. They're hosting the Pickford Panthers. At the half, the 7th grade team is up 11 to 4. In the earlier contest, the 8th grade team beat Pickford 23 to 6. #Go Islanders!
Today, DeTour students had a presentation from the local fire department for fire safety week. They were able to try on equipment and climb around on the fire truck. Thank you, Captain Harper and the rest of the volunteers.

Not sure about all of our parents wanting to let them go, but I do know that our staff members are excited to see the smiling faces of all of our incredible students!
