Because of today's rain, all Islanders practices will be indoors: HS Golf: 3:30-5:30 in DeTour MS and HS Track: 4:00-5:45 in Cedarville MS Softball: 5:30-7:00 in Cedarville Stay dry, Islanders!!!

K-1 class watching the solar eclipse!

If your son or daughter is interested in summer baseball or softball, here is information you will find useful. DeTour and Drummond kiddos are welcomed to play with Pickford; but if enough sign up from our area, we can have our own teams. Contact information is located at the bottom of the flyer.

The Solar Eclipse is coming next Monday, 4/8/24. Peak viewing for the solar eclipse will be at 3:15pm. We urge parents to educate your children about safe viewing practices, including the use of certified solar viewing glasses or pinhole projectors. Thank you to our local library for providing solar eclipse glasses to all of our students. Extra eclipse glasses may be picked up at the local library. Supervision of younger children during the eclipse is advised. Remember, not looking directly at the solar eclipse is best practice just like we don’t look directly at the sun.

DeTour Area Schools and DATA will not be holding classes tomorrow, Friday 22 March 2024, due to potential accumulating snow throughout the day, into the afternoon. No CTE.

As a PBIS reward, middle school students enjoyed a fun luau and carnival games today. Special thank you to Mrs. Livingston, all the teachers and staff who helped put this together for our students.

March 20th, 2024. Due to the wind, the ferry boat is only leaving at the top of the hour. Therefore, all students at DeTour and Drummond Island will be released early from school today at 2:45pm in order to make the ferry at 3:00pm. Once again, all staff and students at Detour and Drummond Island schools will be released today at 2:45pm. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Today the DATA and DHS Middle and High School Q2 Honor Roll students were rewarded with pizza and bowling at Dondee Lanes in the Soo. A great time was had by all!!!

Congratulations to all of our middle and high school students who competed in the EUP Regional History Day at LSSU. We had a lot of students that placed in their categories. A special thank you to Mr Norris for going above and beyond and providing the opportunity for our students.

Another exciting night for our elementary Raiders girl's basketball teams. They took on Brimley this evening in three separate contests. Everyone played hard and had a great time.

Our middle and high school students had a fantastic experience participating in the LSSU Pi day math competition this week! They formed four teams (two HS - two MS) and engaged in a series of high level, fast paced sessions. The competition was strong, but they held their own, both finishing in the top half of the 28 competing teams. Great job everyone, we're proud of you!

Fun night for the elementary DeTour Raiders ladies' basketball team as they took on Rudyard. Go Raiders!

Tonight's postponed basketball game will be played tomorrow, February 29, at 5:30. Any tickets purchased via GoFan will automatically be transferred to tomorrow.

Due to continued poor road conditions, the difficult decision was made to postpone tonight's District game in Pickford. We'll pass along the new day and time as soon as details are announced. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Due to today's school cancellation, Drummond Island Elementary Student-Led Conferences will be held on Tuesday, March 5th. We would like to invite families to come in at 2:00 and celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday by reading with their student(s) and then having an ice cream sundae party. Immediately following, families can participate in our Student-Led Conferences. If this time does not work for your family, you can contact your child's teacher to make an alternate plan. This would be in place of the originally scheduled plan. Please feel free to share.
