Pickford Area Schools are excited to announce that they will be starting a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC) career and technical education program for Fall 2024!
Students will be able to enroll in the 2 hour/day program for the 2024-25 school year.
Eligible students - Juniors and Seniors currently enrolled in districts within the EUPISD region. Look for further information to be shared soon about how students can enroll and take advantage of learning more about this high demand field!
Course Description from course syllabus: Students in this two-year program will have the opportunity to explore this specialized field while they learn from industry experts, both onsite at Pickford Public Schools and in work-based learning placements arranged with local contractors. Students will learn the mechanics, circuits, controls, and programs used in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Students will also learn to apply mechanical code to the planning, installation, and maintenance of systems, while perfecting customer service techniques. Other critical components include the system design of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems. Students will also learn how environmental protections drive the evolving technology within this occupation. This program will provide students with the hands-on experiences and industry specific training they need to be successful in this high demand career
