Chippewa County Community Foundation is a nonprofit, community corporation created by and for the people of Chippewa County. We are here to help our donors make a positive impact on their community.
Three special features of the Community Foundation are:
Personalized service. We make giving easy and effective, accepting a wide variety of gifts and providing donors a number of charitable options.
Local Expertise. Our professional staff has an in-depth understanding of the issues, opportunities, and resources that shape our community. They monitor all areas of community need-including human services, education, the environment, heath care, the arts, and economic development. We can help you learn more about local organizations and programs that make a difference in areas you care about most.
Community leadership. We invest in the long-term and bring people and organizations together, convening diverse voices to address local issues and opportunities. Our business is building community.
DeTour-Drummond Education Endowment
Endowment: When you contribute to our charitable fund through your community foundation, you have the opportunity to benefit the community for ever with a permanent endowment. Your gift is invested over time. Earnings from your fund are used to make grants addressing school needs. Your gift—is a permanent source of community capital, helping to do good work today and in the future.
DeTour-Drummond Island Education Endowment Foundation was established in January, 2005 in conjunction with the
Chippewa County Community Foundation to augment teaching and learning for students young and old!
Tools for Giving
Outright Gift: You can make a gift of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate or other asses to your community foundation. Your charitable gift qualifies for tax advantages under federal law.
Bequest by Will: You can designate a gift or a portion of your estate to your community foundation and, in some cases, receive a substantial reduction in federal gift and estate taxes.
Charitable Gift Annuity: You can make a gift of cash or property to your community foundation now, get immediate tax benefits, and ensure that you or a loved one receive fixed quarterly or annual income payments for life.
Charitable Remainder Trust: You can place cash or property in a trust that pays annual income to you (or another named beneficiary) for life. After your death, the remainder of the trust transfers to your community foundation and is placed into a charitable fund you have selected. You receive income tax benefits the year you establish your trust.
Charitable Lead Trust: You can place cash or property into a trust that pays a fixed amount to your community foundation for the number of years you select. Once this period ends, the assets held by the trust are transferred to the beneficiaries you name. In some cases, you receive a substantial reduction in federal gift and estate taxes.
Scholarships. You can invest your gift in our community’s future and show students that you care, all with the guidance and personal services of your community foundation.
Unrestricted Funds. You can have ongoing involvement in the use of your gift. You work with our professional program staff, identifying ways to use dollars from the Donor Advised Fund you establish to address the issues and needs you care about most. Your recommendations are submitted to our local board for approval; we then distribute grant dollars.
Field of Interest Funds. You can target your gift to address special needs in important areas of community life.
Grants. Once these funds are established, they are awarded today and in the future. It is a great way to always be involved with, and remembered for, your community investment.
